Let’s start this year with a clear picture of our identity: known and loved child of God (Ephesians 2:4, Psalm 139, Galatians 3:26). We are those who’s names are graven on His hand (Isaiah 49:16), who’s hairs are numbered (Luke 12:7), who are called His friends (John 15:15) – that is who you are. That is who we are.
Before any other title, role, or name – including servant leader – that is who you are. And to grasp our true and primary identity, it will only serve to magnify any others we pick up – musician, worship leader, vocalist, servant leader.
